Tobacco companies who sold untaxed cigarettes broke the law. A few cigarette companies in US have escaped taxes by selling cigarettes tax free to retailers in an American Indian reservation in Long Island, who have then sold it back to people in the city for cheaper prices.

On Wednesday the Australia’s highest court upheld a law that means tobacco companies are no longer aloud to put their company logos on cigarette packs. The reason for it is that the customers will see more of the graphics images associated with their habit. Read more about it at The New York Times webpage here.

Ireland’s Minister of finances rejects the proposal of raised taxes in Ireland. If the proposal had gone through it would have meant that 15 euro price tags soon would have been put on cigarettes. Reason for rejection was that he fears that the trafficking would continue to grow.
